Knockaround was started in La Jolla, California, in the summer of 2005, by Adam "Ace" Moyer.
Where does the name Knockaround come from?
Growing up, Ace's dad, Dennis, would refer to some of his clothing or accessories as his “knockarounds”– so he had “knockaround sneakers” that he kept in the garage and used to wear when he mowed the lawn. He would wear his “knockaround jacket” when he was shoveling snow. Knockarounds were tough, classic and durable. When Ace started his sunglasses company the name "Knockaround" was a natural fit.
What does ACE ON BASE mean?
It all begins with The Magnum P.I. s: a tv and movie-theme song cover band Ace played in during college. By his own admission, the band was not very good, so they had to depend on gimmicks—costumes, videos, fake blood. At one show the band decided they’d have Ace slide over from keyboard to bass guitar during a song. The lead singer, Matt Coors, said, “Ace on bass,” and nodded to the instruments. It rhymed. It rang. It stuck. “Ace on bass” quickly became “Ace on Base,” and soon people were asking, “you on your base today, Ace?”
Ace has been on base ever since.
With absolutely no relation or reference to the seminal 90’s Swedish adult contemporary techno-pop band Ace of Base, “Ace on Base” has confused and endeared an entire generation of friends. How could it not be the Knockaround message?

Product notes
The arms on my Fort Knocks seem "loose". Is that normal?
The arms on the Fort Knocks articulate. In other words, they rock slightly from left to right. This allows for a better fit, since the arms can move to the shape of your head. Don't worry, the arms will not be falling off and your sunglasses are not defective. Sorry, we do not provide refunds for this design element.

Where can I buy Knockarounds?
Knockarounds are primarily sold on knockaround.com, but we’re slowly adding unique retailers across the country. If you have a store and would like to carry Knockarounds, email info@knockaround.com for more information.
Enter your zip code where it says "Postal Code," and then click the "Update Cart" button. When you do that, all of the available shipping methods should show up for you. Once you select a shipping method, you will be able to proceed with the checkout process.
What is your return policy?
Sorry, Knockaround does not accept returns. If a product is damaged during shipping, Knockaround accepts exchange of that product within ten days of purchase. Please direct any questions regarding our return policy to info@knockaround.com before ordering. All international sales are final.
We encourage customers who have never ordered from us before to try one or two pairs before submitting a large order.
If you are unsure about whether the size of the sunglasses will work for your face, we suggest you take note of the product dimensions listed on the individual product pages. Compare these dimensions with the dimensions of other eyewear that have worked for you in the past.
Shipping
What are your shipping charges?
Shipping charges vary by product, weight and delivery. If you are only ordering a few pairs of sunglasses, we recommend opting for the USPS First-Class shipping option. It is affordable (around $5 for one or two pairs of sunglasses) and your package should arrive to you within six business days.
How can I track my package?
Only packages shipped via UPS can be tracked. If you choose UPS Ground or UPS Air as your shipping option, you will receive a UPS tracking number in the confirmation email that is sent out when your order has shipped.
How long before my order arrives?
Most shipments arrive within 3-5 business days, however, delivery times vary depending on carrier. During our busiest times of the year (Spring, Summer, Holidays) it may take longer for your order to arrive.
Do you ship internationally?
We do ship to Canada, Australia, Germany, France, Switzerland, New Zealand, Netherlands, Spain, Sweden, Italy and the UK. We are not shipping to any other countries at this time.

Do you sponsor events/people?
We have sponsored people and events in the past, but right now we are not actively adding any new sponsorships. But of course, if you'd like to send us an email and tell us what you're up to, we would be more than happy to read it.
