Stein Family Farm

Charles Stein emigrated to the United States from Germany in the 1880s, and in 1900 he and his wife Bertha moved to this site and established a farm.  The two-story Victorian farmhouse, barn, and over two acres of their property remained with the descendants of the Stein family until 1992, when it was bought by the National City Community Development Commission and saved from demolition in order to be transformed into a living history museum. Located less than a mile from Knockaround HQ, the Stein Family Farm is the last remnant of an original farmstead in National City, California.  —Photos by Matt Coors
